My upload to the website/dropbox is taking forever! Why is it taking so long?

Diagnostics

Please visit www.fast.com to diagnose your upload/download speed

If your upload speed is slower than 25MBPS, it may take a long time for large/high-quality files to be uploaded.

Solution

Reduce bandwidth use by closing down other internet-using programs or browser tabs, attempt to upload from a location with faster internet, or contact your ISP and discuss a faster/more powerful internet plan if it is available in your area.

If you would like to have a ballpark estimate of how long the file may take to upload, you can check Here.

My app Upload is stuck at X% , what should I do?

If your upload speed is slower than 25MBPS, it may take a very long time for large/high-quality files to be uploaded.

Solution

Close the app, by pressing the home button twice and flicking the app window upwards. Then reopen and attempt to reupload, this solves the problem quite often.

Reduce bandwidth use by closing down other internet-using programs or browser tabs, connect/disconnect from your local WiFi (depending on the results of the speed test), attempt to upload from a location with faster internet, or contact your ISP and discuss a faster/more powerful internet plan if it is available in your area

When I try to upload it to the website, it gives me an error!

Solution

Verify that you are currently connected to the internet. Make sure that you are using Chrome or a chromium-based browser to upload videos, rather than Microsoft Edge.

Verify that the file is a .MP4 file rather than a .mov and that the file contains no special characters within the name EX. !@#$%^&*()<>?

If you are uploading multiple files, make sure that they are all in the same aspect ratio, otherwise, contact the help center for a Dropbox Link.

When I trimmed my upload I cut it too far! What do I do?

Solution

  • Contact the Help Center to have an agent remove the video from your service to reupload

or

  • Delete the service listing, recreate the service in a new listing, embed the video into the relevant obituary on your site, and then replace then add the video how you originally intended to cut it.

I have successfully, but the service reports that it is still "rendering", what can I do?

Solution

If you have a particularly long or high-quality video, it may take a very long time to render. Generally, videos render at a 1-1 time rate, meaning that for every 1 hour of video, it will take approximately 1 hour to render it.

If a render takes more than 3x the prescribed amount of time that it should be taking to render, feel free to contact the support so that we can diagnose what might have occurred with the file.

There is no need to stay on the rendering screen or keep the device on during the rendering process, as that process occurs entirely on the backend servers.
