You are allowed to stream more events than just funerals. If you have a community event such as a time of sharing or an annual remembrance service you can use MemoryShare to stream it directly to your website. The billing is the same as if you were to stream a funeral.
How to stream a non-funeral
The workflow is exactly the same as streaming a funeral. Create a service, and break up the title between the first name and last name fields.
You can leave the birthdate and deathdate as is.
Save the service.
Create the Event
Edit the title to what makes sense for your event. Make sure to clear the word "funeral" from the event.
Set the stream time
Embed
Embedding a non funeral stream is similar to embedding a funeral. You will copy and paste the same embed code. However, instead of pasting the embed code in an obituary you will paste it on a new page, or in the home page of your website.
Please see the links below for creating a new page π
*Others - Please reach out to your website provider for help on creating a specific page.
The flow is similar to embedding on the obituary.
Simulcast to Facebook
Streaming community events is one of the rare times we recommend streaming to Facebook. (*assuming your event won't play copyright music). Facebook is a marketing tool, and can get your event in front of people not regularly checking your site. However, we always recommend publishing content directly to your website for SEO reasons.
This is why MemoryShare allows you to simulcast to Facebook. For community events this is the best of both worlds. You can do all of the promotions prompting people to go to your website, however you can also show your stream on Facebook for those who didn't get the message.
See this article for guidance on how to stream the event on both your website and Facebook.
